Mac Talks '68: Group 2

Jim DeWeerd, Glenn Peterson, and Barb DeWeerd talk about
their experiences during the Vietnam War era at Macalester College in 1968.

I knew that it could become a part of my life and that I could be drafted.

Mac Talks ’68 is a partnership of Macalester College and Twin Cities PBS. This StoryCorps-like event was designed to capture the experiences of the Macalester Class of ’68 and how they were impacted by the tumultuous events of 1968.

Through facilitated small-group discussions, they address such issues as: How did the Vietnam War affect our lives? How were we impacted by the Civil Rights Movement? The Feminist Movement? The political upheaval?
