I Was Devastated Whenever He Went Away
At 19, Linda Ash was a young newlywed with a husband in the National Guard. When he was notified that he would likely be called up, Linda decided she would join the Women's Air Corps and go to Vietnam with him. Lucky for both of them, he never got called.
My reaction was, I think, so typical of women that were going to be left behind. You heard all these awful, awful stories.
