I lost Christmas in 1967

I forgot all memories of Christmases past and was only thinking about how to get through another day in the nam.

When I was In-country, the days leading up to Christmas 1967 were hollow and lost. I forgot all memories of Christmases past and was only thinking about how to get through another day in the nam. To this day I do not remember any of us talking about home and Christmas at that time.

I try to put on a welcome and happy face around the holidays for my family and friends but I know its hollow. I just hope I don't ruin their holiday experience.

I think I could get it back if I could be with my service buddies but that will never happen because some are gone and to much time has passed.
