Hope for the Hmong People

Sia Her, Executive Director of the Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans, shares her hopes for the younger generation of Hmong Americans at a fall 2017 screening of Minnesota Remembers Vietnam: America's Secret War.

The best way for America to demonstrate that it sincerely appreciates the sacrifices of the Hmong elders would be to create public policies that would allow for their children to live lives of dignity, and allow their children to, with the movement of a pen, write the next chapter of the Hmong-American story - a story of triumph from a story that started out with a whole lot of pain and sorrow.
