He Saved His Platoon

Douglas Mark Clark was KIA about 6 months after he arrived in country, but his sister Donna has nothing but pride when she reflects on him and his service. He received a purple heart, a distinguished service cross, and a silver star, all for saving his platoon from a surprise ambush.

He came from a military background, and he went into the service because he felt that he needed to perform his duty.

Donna's story was captured with the help of TPT's Minnesota Remembers Vietnam team.
