Ft. Sam Houston, Texas

My tour of duty during the Vietnam war was from April 1962 to April 1965 at Ft Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. During this time I served as supply officer for the Air Medical Evacuation unit at the heliport.

Our mission consisted primarily of flying burn victims from Kelly AFB to the burn unit at Brook General Hospital. Most of the pilots and crew chiefs I served with logged at least one tour of duty in vietnam. Some suffered wounds during this time and one, Major Charles Kelly fatally.

I feel very proud and fortunate to have known theses fine soldiers. My entire army service was spent at this location
