Father and Son Stationed in Vietnam
I have been researching for years for Fathers and Sons who served in Vietnam together at the same time. I found only one so far, John Sidney McCain Jr., Commander in Chief of the United States Pacific Command, commander of all military forces in Vietnam and his son. While Admiral McCain was in South Vietnam, his son, Senator John S. McCain III was a prisoner of war in a POW camp in North Vietnam.
Until I read the story Father and Son Serving in Vietnam, by Larry Mason, I did not know of any other father/sons serving in Nam at the same time.

My father, M/Sgt. James Romaine, United States Air Force served in Vietnam from February 1970 to February 1971. He was stationed at Da Nang Air Force Base, Viet Nam.
I was serving in the United States Marine Corps, with 1st. Marine Regt., 1st Marine Division at Dia Loc Pass, about 14 mile north of Da Nang Air Base. I was stationed in Viet Nam from March 1970 To March 1971.

We always felt mother suffered far more then either one of us, but as any military wife, she was one tough soldier.

My mother was back home raising four children waiting for both of us to return home safely. Dad and I both always felt that mother had the hardest duty and roughest time then either Dad or I. We always felt mother suffered far more then either one of us, but as any military wife, she was one tough soldier.
Mother passed away last year. Dad passed away in 2013 from complications due to Agent Orange. We both suffer from the effects of Agent Orange.
I will always remember those mothers and wives who sacrificed and gave so much to their country because they were married to a military man or had a child who was in the military. You see, they are serving their country just as much as their husbands.
God bless them all.
