Brother Charles

My brother Chuck was an MP serving in Vietnam. One night while on duty his unit received a message that there were Viet Cong at an ammunition site and he and another member  of his unit went to check it out. My brother was caught in between cross fire from the other member of his unit and the enemy and was shot from behind by the member of his unit.

The American government told us only that he was shot by friendly fire. I found out 40 years later from someone who was also an MP and served with my brother what had actually happened, his name is Ron Kidder who lives in Maine. I also heard the same account from a classmates husband who served with my brother this last year at my 50th class reunion.
