Vietnam War Stories

A community event program hosted by Northwestern Health Sciences University and the City of Bloomington.

The program opens with a video of interviews and stories from local Vietnam veterans and family, followed by a discussion between veterans who served in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan moderated by Katie Carpenter, special projects lead at TPT-Twin Cities PBS. Attendees will learn more about the similarities and differences of their experiences and how all community members can support veterans.

As you watch the video, think about how the Vietnam experience may compare, or differ, from current events and veteran experiences.

This event was sponsored by the City of Bloomington Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Commemorative Partnership along with Northwestern and American Legion Post 550.
