The Nguyens

Bao Phi was born Thien-bao in Saigon, Vietnam, the youngest son of a mostly Vietnamese mother and a Chinese Vietnamese father. 

Phi is a two-time winner of the Minnesota Grand Poetry Slam, and has also won two poetry slams at the Nuyorican Poets Café in New York. Phi is the Associate Program Director at the Loft Literary Center where he curates Equilibrium, a series devoted to spoken word artists and audiences of color.

Here, he performs The Nguyens, a piece about the Vietnamese American experience.
