Daniel Ojeda was one of the First Sky Soldiers of the 173rd ABN Bde (Sep) to go to South Vietnam on May 5th 1965. The unit was from Okinawa sent by President Johnson May 3, 1965. 

Dan saw a lot of action with the 1st Battalion 503rd Infantry Airborne. On July 3, 1965, he received orders for his Combat Infantry Badge. It was on his mother's birthday. 

Dan wrote a poem of the Sky Soldiers Legend. Years later, the Airborne Jump School at Ft. Benning GA, placed a Bronze Plaque at the Training Area for the Troopers. It was also made known at West Point Academy in New York. 

Over 30 Bronze Plaques are located in Federal Military Museums in the U.S.A.

Dan Ojeda is a life member of military and veterans organizations.
