James Figenshau, Marianne Figenshau, John Thomas West, III and Jeanette Messersmith share what they remember about the Vietnam War while being on campus at Macalester College in 1968.
Mac Talks ’68 is a partnership of Macalester College and Twin Cities PBS. This StoryCorps-like event was designed to capture the experiences of the Macalester Class of ’68 and how they were impacted by the tumultuous events of 1968.
Through facilitated small-group discussions, they address such issues as: How did the Vietnam War affect our lives? How were we impacted by the Civil Rights Movement? The Feminist Movement? The political upheaval?
