Diplomacy Instead of Fighting

Dr. Harry Bury's first experience of war resistance was as a letter writer for University of Minnesota students who were applying for conscientious objector status. His first trip to Vietnam was in 1971 as an anti-war demonstrator, and he taught in Vietnam until a couple of years ago. He firmly believes that diplomacy is more effective than fighting.

It was too easy just to say I was against the war. I perceived that I really needed to do something about it.

Harry's story was captured with the help of TPT's Minnesota Remembers Vietnam team.
