50,000 young american men and women's lives lost for what?

I went because I was drafted. Did not understand why before I left and did not understand why after I came back. Almost 50 years later I still do not understand.

The history shows Ike could have resolved this in 1956, but he chose not to. After all the wars we have fought since WWII and not won (all of them) I am completely distrustful of this country's "theory" about war. It has become a political issue for us, centered around Presidents that do not want to look bad or be remembered for not doing what some people think he should have done.

I strongly feel that all politician.s children should be the first to go to war. If the politician does not want to loose a child because of some incident or outlook- then the public should not be asked to loose one of their children.
