A Minnesota PBS Initiative
National History Day in Minnesota
Education is a key part of the Minnesota Remembers Vietnam initiative. Twin Cities PBS is proud to support thousands of teachers by partnering with the Minnesota Council for Social Studies and students via National History Day MN.
The 2018 History Day theme is “Conflict and Compromise.” In partnership with state organizers, TPT will award four topical prizes to outstanding student projects focused on the Vietnam War; special attention will be given to documentaries. TPT staff will serve as judges at the regional competitions and assist students with their projects prior to the competitions.
In support of History Day students making a documentary, TPT has produced this 8-minute video filled with tips from fellow filmmakers.
HOW TO USE THIS WEBSITE
The Minnesota Remembers Vietnam Story Wall is a great place to find primary sources for your History Day projects. The Story Wall has robust search functionality. Filter stories by topic, conduct a keyword search to find stories on a certain theme or event, or explore stories by geography using our map.
We are happy to connect individually with students who are looking for something specific, or who would like to be in touch with a Story Wall contributor. Send us an email at [email protected] with your name, school, History Day topic, and your question, and we’ll get back in touch!
